Repair service terms
This document forms part of the terms on which KETTLEBRIDGE APPLIANCE CARE LTD (trading as Kettlebridge Appliance Care) provides its services. It should be read together with our terms and conditions, privacy policy and statutory rights notice.
Version: 1.0. Last updated: 12 July 2026. Your statutory rights are not affected.
These terms apply to one-off appliance repairs booked with KETTLEBRIDGE APPLIANCE CARE LTD (trading as Kettlebridge Appliance Care) and should be read together with our general terms and conditions.
1. What is included
- Visit by a qualified engineer at the confirmed appointment window.
- Diagnosis of the reported fault on the appliance identified in the booking.
- Labour to carry out an economically viable repair.
- Fitting of parts that you have expressly approved beforehand.
2. Diagnosis fee
A fixed diagnosis fee is disclosed before you book and is payable whether or not the appliance can be economically repaired. The diagnosis fee will be deducted from the overall labour charge if you proceed with the repair on the same visit.
3. Parts
Where the repair requires parts that are not carried on the vehicle, we will send you a written quotation. Work will only proceed once you have accepted the quotation. Parts remain our property until paid for in full.
4. Repair guarantee
We guarantee the labour element of our repair for 90 days from completion. Manufacturer warranties on parts we fit are passed to you on request. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
5. Beyond economic repair
If the appliance is beyond economic repair we will explain why in writing and charge only the disclosed diagnosis fee. We will not proceed with further work without your consent.
6. Missed appointments and access
If we are unable to gain access at the booked time through no fault of ours, or if you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we may charge a missed-appointment fee that will have been disclosed to you before you booked.
7. Cancellation and refunds
Consumers may cancel within 14 days of booking under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — see our cancellation policy and refund policy. If you asked us to start work in that period, we may deduct a fair charge for the work already carried out.
8. Exclusions
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect appliance function.
- Faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, pests or foreign objects.
- Installation of the appliance and any modifications to plumbing or electrics beyond making the appliance safe.
- Recovery of data or contents (e.g. food loss in a fridge/freezer). Consequential losses are limited as set out in the general terms.
9. Safety and refusal to work
Our engineers may refuse to work on an appliance where doing so would breach Gas Safe or electrical safety requirements, or where the working environment is unsafe or hostile. See our engineer safety policy.
