Engineer safety policy

This document forms part of the terms on which KETTLEBRIDGE APPLIANCE CARE LTD (trading as Kettlebridge Appliance Care) provides its services. It should be read together with our terms and conditions, privacy policy and statutory rights notice.

Version: 1.0. Last updated: 12 July 2026. Your statutory rights are not affected.

KETTLEBRIDGE APPLIANCE CARE LTD has a duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to protect the health and safety of its engineers and of anyone affected by our work. This policy explains the safe-working standards we apply on every visit.

Before starting work

  • Confirm the appliance and fault with the customer and review any risk information.
  • Isolate the appliance from the mains supply where appropriate.
  • Check for signs of gas leakage, water damage, exposed live electrics or asbestos.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Circumstances in which we may refuse or stop work

  • The appliance or installation is immediately dangerous and cannot be made safe on the visit.
  • Gas work is required but the engineer is not Gas Safe registered for that class of work.
  • The premises are unsafe (for example structural risk, uncontrolled animals, biohazards or the presence of drugs or weapons).
  • The customer or anyone at the property is abusive, threatening or under the visible influence of substances.
  • Children are unsupervised near the work area and no adult is present.

Where we refuse or stop work you will not be charged for labour beyond any disclosed diagnosis fee, and we will explain in writing what needs to happen before we can return.

Zero tolerance of abuse

Our engineers and support team have the right to work free from abuse, harassment or discrimination. We record incidents and may withdraw future service where behaviour puts our people at risk.
