Step-by-step checks
- Note the exact code. Photograph the display — E15, F02, H20 etc. Codes differ by brand.
- Cross-check the manual. Manufacturer PDFs are searchable online. Many codes have a safe reset (turn off at socket for 10 minutes).
- Try a rinse-only cycle. This isolates whether the fault is heating, draining or motor-related.
Safety notes
- Water-related codes (H20, E10) combined with visible leaks: stop the cycle immediately and isolate power.
- Motor codes (F06, E9) that trip the fuse: don't restart until an engineer has inspected the wiring.
When to book a repair
If the code returns after a reset, or the machine trips the fuse when restarting, book a diagnostic visit.
